Where Coffee Meets Culture
-
Terminal 1 was envisioned as more than just a café—it’s a cultural gateway that connects people, ideas, and stories from around the world. Nestled in Seattle’s Denny Triangle, Terminal 1 offers a thoughtfully curated experience where artisanal coffee, delectable pastries, and unique cultural artifacts come together to create a destination that welcomes all. This space aims to be a meeting point where both locals and travellers can pause, recharge, and immerse themselves in a blend of global culture and hospitality.
Reimagining the Everyday Stopover
-
In a world where coffee shops are abundant, how do you stand out? Terminal 1 faced the challenge of defining its place within Seattle's bustling coffee scene while embodying the essence of a global airport terminal—a hub for diverse people, cultures, and experiences. Much like an airport serves as a crossroads for travellers, Terminal 1 seeks to cater to a broad range of needs—whether it’s a quick coffee on the go, a space for meaningful conversations, or a tranquil spot to work. The challenge was to position Terminal 1 as not just another café but as a trusted destination that captures the spirit of global connection.
A Hub of Hospitality and Artistry
-
We crafted a brand identity that embraces Terminal 1's role as a local gateway to a global conversation. The design highlights an inviting blend of artistry and efficiency, reflecting a space that is both welcoming and thoughtfully curated. The brand values—Trusted, Balanced, Humble, and Globally Local—are woven throughout the experience, from the service approach to the food and beverage presentation. Inspired by the golden days of airline travel, Terminal 1 balances a sense of nostalgia with modern sensibilities. This is reflected in the use of textures, vintage-inspired elements, and a color palette that evokes both comfort and sophistication. The result is a coffee shop experience that feels timeless, yet fresh—a place where everyone, from daily regulars to first-time visitors, can find a moment of respite and connection.
